What do I do after I receive the welcome email?
Connect with the Lead Mentor for your project ASAP and reach back out to TMP if you cannot get in touch with them. Also, send over your bio and watch all of the TMP videos!
What training do I need to do to prepare?
Please read through the entire Mentor Orientation Handbook, watch all of our Trauma Informed Care Videos, and connect with your Lead Mentor about further training.
How often do we have to do background checks?
Every 2 Years
How often do we need to sign the Mentor Agreement Form?
Every year at your project’s first outing–ask your lead mentor.
Can we get reimbursed for things we buy for the project?
Yes, please talk with your Lead Mentor before making any purchases. Submit through the Reimbursement tab in the Mentor section.
Do I have to be at every outing?
Yes, we understand life happens, but the kids we mentor need as much support as possible, and really need us to show up.
What do I do if I’m paired with a mentee that I’m not comfortable working with?
Talk with your lead mentor and ask to be switched around. You being comfortable is important as well!
I haven’t heard from my Lead Mentor after reaching out several times. What should I do?
Please email our Program Director and they will get you plugged in or help assess the situation.
